THE STORY OF THE BAND
The Newz Makers were formed in 2006 when City of Sacramento Treasurer Russ Fehr asked a few musicians he knew by reputation only, (who happened to be City employees) to play a City related gig at the Memorial Auditorium. The chosen musicians were humbled by the idea of performing at the same venue where most of rock and roll's early groups had played in Sacramento. Bands like the Beach Boys, the Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and on and on! The gig was a big success and after playing together long enough to get to know each other better, the band decided to keep a good thing going. They have played at the City Picnic in Land Park for four thousand City employees and have become popular at City events and non-City events as well! They are very busy people, but if you are lucky, you might be able to book them!
